OUR ETHOS

We believe in doing everything we can to maximise the benefits of our woodlands.  We do our research and we do things the right way.

  • We plant native, diverse woodlands that boost biodiversity.
  • We carefully select land best suited to maximise carbon storage and minimise any negative environmental impacts.
  • We futureproof our woodlands, only planting on charity-owned land, to be fully protected.

The charity does not compromise on these values. We continue to raise money through crowdfunding alone, maintaining complete independence and integrity.

We are closing down.

We are so grateful for the consistent generosity shown in your support all these years, but sadly none of the four trustees have the capacity to continue the daily responsibilities of running New Woodlands alongside our demanding professional and personal lives.

Every penny of the nearly £21,000 donated to us was saved. We covered all the charity's costs personally.

That money has now been transferred to the Woodland Trust, to help them acquire, restore and protect woodland compartments in Hargate Forest, south of Tunbridge Wells. Info here & here.

This website will close on January 1st 2026.
